FreeVerse

FreeVerse

FreeVerse Collective is committed to building spaces that center creativity, dialogue, and social connection. With Spotlight Sessions, we're taking that vision even further.

Where Art + Activism meet to Liberate Us.

FreeVerse is a revolutionary open mic series and cultural platform committed to amplifying radical imagination through art, truth-telling, and collective liberation. Rooted in Boston and resonating far beyond, Free Verse exists to uplift the voices too often left out; BIPOC youth, LGBTQ+ creatives, and emerging artists navigating systemic barriers in the arts.

We cultivate inclusive, intergenerational spaces where poetry, music, movement, and visual art become tools for healing, resistance, and transformation. Through curated performances, open mics, mentorship, and national cultural exchange, Free Verse empowers artists to share boldly, build community, and expand their creative reach across cities, borders, and boundaries.

Upcoming Events

Thursday, April 23rd, 2026

FreeVerse returns to the Civic Pavilion on April 23rd from 6–9 PM for a night dedicated to voice, expression, and community.

This month’s event features René Manuel Ramos, a Providence-based poet whose work explores masculinity, family, and grief with honesty and depth, alongside KNG-DVD, a Boston artist known for blending sharp lyricism with melodic storytelling that leaves a lasting impact.

The evening will also include open mic performances, giving space for new and returning voices to share their work, as well as live DJ accompaniment to carry the energy throughout the night. Whether you’re stepping up to the mic or joining us in the audience, FreeVerse invites you to be part of a space where stories are honored, and creativity moves freely.
